- All three shows on the North America Stadium Tour 2022 in Mexico City in October 2022 were recorded for this release.
- On 29 May 2025, Svante Forsbäck posted a photo of himself with Richard at Chartmakers Studios. The caption read: Done! 3 days with my favorite German Metal Band in the studio. And yes the Guitars sound great! Thank you Richard, Olsen and Florian. The photo was deleted shortly afterwards.
- On 20 May 2026, the first details of the release were revealed on the official website of the German motion picture rating agency FSK, including its title, running time and age rating.
- On 22 July, an entry for DJ Set Deutschland was discovered in the GEMA database.
- On 19 August, the first screening dates—4, 7 and 11 November—were published by a local German cinema.[1]
- Also on 19 August, the Russian retailer Rare Metal Music was found to have listed four different Editions of the release: 2 CD, 2 CD + Blu-ray, 4 LP and a deluxe box set.
- On 4 September, listings for the film were found on the websites of Zinema City Kino[2] and Rialto Cinemas NZ.[3]
- On 23 September, the versions were made available for pre-order from different retailers around midnight, before they were announced by Rammstein themselves.
Promotion
- The first teaser was released on 14 September.
- On 15 September, the first trailer was released alongside the official announcement of cinema screenings beginning on 4 November and the film's home-media release on 20 November. A dedicated website for the film was also launched: https://www.rammsteinmexico.live/
- Both the announcement and the release date coincided with national Mexican holidays: Independence Day on 15 September, and Revolution Day on 20 November.
- The following text was released on https://www.rammsteinmexico.live/:
Filmed across three sold-out nights at the 65,000-capacity Foro Sol, Rammstein – Live in Mexico City captures one of the defining performances of the band’s monumental five-year world stadium tour in a spectacular concert film directed by four-time GRAMMY® nominee and two-time Primetime Emmy® Award winner Paul Dugdale.
Spanning 135 concerts and witnessed by six million fans around the world, the tour marked a major chapter in Rammstein’s international career. For more than three decades, the Berlin six-piece has built one of the most distinctive global profiles in modern music. Two-time GRAMMY® nominees with audiences across the globe, Rammstein have brought German-language rock to major venues around the world – combining colossal sound, theatrical precision and live production on a scale entirely their own.
Featuring 20 career-spanning songs, including “Du Hast”, “Sonne”, “Ich Will” and the Mexico City finale “Te Quiero Puta!”, the film places audiences at the heart of a show where 20-metre-high flames, stadium-wide pyrotechnics and towering industrial architecture are matched by moments of genuine connection between the band and the crowd.
Following landmark screen releases including Jonas Åkerlund’s Rammstein: Paris, this new film captures Rammstein at full stadium scale – and the lasting bond they have built with fans around the world.
From November 4, 2026, audiences worldwide can experience Rammstein – Live in Mexico City in cinematic 4K, with Dolby Atmos sound where available.
The fans in the front row survived. Now it is your turn.
Viva México. Viva Rammstein.
